Fitting Instructions

FITTING INSTRUCTIONS

With all our stickers styles, we suggest that they aren’t applied in extreme temperatures including super hot or extremely cold days. Try to apply these out of direct sunlight. When it gets warm the vinyl stretches and becomes easier to tear and ruin, likewise when cold the adhesive won’t adhere to the glass properly.

Sunstrip Application Instructions

• Thoroughly clean your windscreen to remove all dirt and grit. Be careful which cleaning product you use to clean the glass, as some will leave a residue behind that will prevent the sticker from adhering well.

• Measure down from each side of the windscreen from the top of the glass and apply a little masking tape to mark the same length at each side of the windscreen. This will help ensure the strip is applied as straight as possible.

• Remove the backing paper from the sunstrip and apply a thin spray of soapy water on top of the windscreen.

• Apply the sunstrip to screen leaving the excess at the sides and top (this will ensure you get a straight clean edge on the screen). The soapy water will allow movement of the strip to ensure it’s placed centrally. Try not to pull it to much to avoid stretching the vinyl.

• Squeeze out excess water and air bubbles from under the strip. A credit card is a handy tool for this, however to prevent scratching the vinyl we suggest wrapping it in a cloth. If you have some stubborn bubbles you can prick these with a pin a flatten.

• Trim off the excess vinyl around the glass with a sharp blade. Try and do this as close to the glass as possible.

• When it is fitted and you are happy, leave it to completely dry before driving anywhere. We recommend 2-4 hours depending on weather conditions. The longer you leave it the better chance you have of it being firmly in position.

Sticker Application Instructions

• Thoroughly clean your windscreen to remove all dirt and grit. Be careful which cleaning product you use to clean the glass, as some will leave a residue behind that will prevent the sticker from adhering well.

• Prepare the sticker for application by firmly rubbing a bank card across the length of the sticker (your best to wrap this in a cloth to stop any damaging on the vinyl). This removes any air bubbles that may have formed and makes the sticker cling to the transfer tape. It also helps if you warm it slightly, you can do this by rubbing it in-between your hands!

• Peel the paper backing off the sticker. If the sticker clings to the backing, gently replace the paper backing and repeat the previous step. Take extra care with our oil-slick and glitter vinyls when doing this. You may have to help the sticker off the backer, be patient with this and don’t allow it to fold back onto itself.

• Place the sticker onto the desired surface and rub it in place firmly with a Microfibre/ bank card ensuring to cover the whole sticker when doing this. For best results, wait a few minutes before moving to the next step. This will allow the adhesive time to cling.

• Slowly peel the clear film off at an 90/180 degree angle. Be careful not to pull the sticker off the surface your applying it to. If your sticker does pull away from the surface, repeat the previous step again until firmly in place.
